This kind of thing really gets my blood boiling:

Here, once again, we have a liberal judge siding with a violent perpetrator. Go Massachussetts. To hell with the innocent victim(s) and public safety. And then (surprise!) someone gets hurt - again.
I wonder if this Judge Moses (ironic name) feels compelled to apologise to the little boy who was raped?
My big question is this: Shouldn't there be some kind of REVIEW PROCESS for judges? I mean, isn't this country all about CHECKS and BALANCES? Shouldn't there be a panel of random citizens (lets say twelve - a jury) in each district that gets together once a year to review the track records of the sentencing judges in that district. There could be a simple piece of paper for each judge with two columns. In the first column: Sentences passed. In the second column: the defendant's "performance" since sentencing. If a judge shows a pattern of exposing the public to dangerous criminals, he gets demoted back down to being just another lawyer. It seems so bloody obvious.
In the other two branches of Govt (Executive and Legislative) our leaders actions occur in the spotlight and are naturally subject to the court of public opinion. Not so the Judicial branch. Judges (most of whom are NOT elected) are able to run amok like little demi-gods, "interpreting" the Law as though it has no fixed meaning, and laughing at sentencing guidelines. I think it's a serious flaw in a system which I generally admire very much.

Yes Grayson,
I wholeheartedly agree - not only from a moral viewpont, but also a Christian viewpoint. Perhaps we should bring back the Old Testament to modern living ? - too many "Human Rights", poor me, I'm being violated (by anything, I don't really care as long as I can blame someone or something else).
If a man (or a woman) walks along a pavement in London and trips, they can sue the local council, so tell me, if the same person walked in the African Bush and tripped on a stone / rock / root / weed, would they think of suing God ? - probably not as they probably don't believe in Him !
Sometimes people make me sick, or boil my blood as you so aptly describe it !
Cheers

Barak Obama may have a slight cultish "messianic" status, but I still think he's more intelligent and intellectually-minded than GWB !
(But then I guess he doesn't suffer from dyselxia), after all good authors haven't brought out a book called "Obamaisms" !
Hi Grayson and Heidi,
We are all very well over here, though still on a 20% reduced salary.
I believe you're currently out of work ? - that's terrible mate, I really hope that you find something soon, though I'm sure you're enjoying some of the time off work. I don't work Friday's as I told my boss if he pays me for a full week then "I'll be back" - as Arnie once said...
I'm doing a 1176 car parking garage (200m x 48m x 4 floors) on the mail Olympic site in Stratford for 2012. You wouldn't believe the politics involved in getting a simple staircore drawing approved ...
We're off to Ireland over Easter weekend to spend some time with my folks. My dad has 2 tumours in his prostrate, so would appreciate your prayers for him. He's having tests done to find out how advanced and/or treatable it is. A nicer man you wll not find in life, he's a gentle person, and has spent his life in missionary work in S.A. for around 32 years, now he and my mom have retired but are still ambassadors or the CofE in S.A., and still very much strong Christians.
We bought a VW TOURAN 2.0 TDI 170 bhp motor about 4 weeks back, and it goes like you would not believe, an absolute pleasure to drive, now we need to sell our 1400 Renault Scenic. Jumping from 75bhp to 170bhp takes some getting used to.
I signed myself adn my 2 boys up for karate lessons on a Saturday morning, that way I get to sepnd some time with them (and get their fat dad to start getting fit again...).
Heidi has got a new post as an Independant Reviewing Officer for Lambeth Social Services, so travels a lot but has far less stress.
Joshua (now 9) has started piano lessons as he seems to have a natural talent for it, can even read basic sheet music !
I't 3 degees c now, and I'm off to work.
Speak to you soon, and lots of love from all of us. May our Heavenly Father look over your family and bless and protect you all through these bad economic times.
Cheers
Stephen, Heidi, Joshua and Matthew
